When I first started this site, I gave each puzzle a week before it closed while players discovered the site. Now that there are regular players, I changed it to the original goal, with each puzzle closing after just one day.
Meanwhile, the posting dates and times are based on UTC. Since I strive for midnight, that means the evening before for American players. For example, in Central Daylight Time, midnight UTC is at 7:00 p.m. So right now, a puzzle is posted at or shortly after 7:00 p.m. CDT, then closes at or shortly after 7:00 p.m. the next night.
But these dates and times are meant to make the game more fun for you, the players. Would you rather do different dates/times? It would be no difficulty to leave puzzles up for 36 hours, for example. Thus they would go up at midnight UTC (7:00 p.m. CDT), then close at noon UTC (7:00 a.m.) the following day.
Leave your opinions and feedback about these changes! I read and publish every comment, even though they are moderated. (For technical reasons, I cannot un-moderate comments for just one post.)
Receive new puzzles as soon as they are posted by subscribing, using one of the links at the top and left of this page!

If you say the puzzle is going to close on XX date, at leave give us the evening to work on it. I can't see blogs at work, so usually I don't get to see the new puzzles before 7 pm CDT. I'd say have them open until at least midnight PST (don't know where the majority of us reside, but that catches all of N.A.)
